- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Cromwell came along to take Dundrum. Philip O'Dwyer led his army against Cromwell and after several hours fighting the O'Dwyers were defeated. People say there is a well in the castle field there and that when the O'Dwyers were beaten Lady Kathleen O'Dwyer took all the gold and silver and jewels they had and threw them in to the well. The well was then filled in and it is said that people have often searched for it in the castle field and could not find it.
- There were two brothers who lived together. The oldest used to go out every night. One night the youngest went with him. They came to a fort where there was a lot of fairies getting ready for a hunt. They were given a sow each to ride and the fairy king told them not to speak one word in the hunt.
