It is said that there is gold to be found there. One time the owner of the farm had a man working in it and he found a pot of gold. When he found it he got excited and ran to tell his master. After some time he and his master returned to take the gold but it had disappeared.
Near our school is a very large heap of stones known as the [inserted within parentheses in irish script and another hand ? the schoolmaster's: "caṫair"] It is so very old that the people do not know what family lived there. It is said that there was a large castle there in the olden times. People say that gold is hidden(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
