Churns.
Every farmer has a churn to churn his butter. There are many different makes of churns but the one we keep is of a round shape like a barrell with a handle attached to each end and resting on a wooden frame. It is about six feet round and about four feet in length and can make about forty two pounds of butter. In Summer we make butter three times a week and once a week in Winter but it depends o n the amount of cream we have.It is very few farmers who make butter or use the churns now because they are sending their milk to the creamery and buy creamery butter instead.- Bailitheoir
