  1. Ancient home cures.
    22nd march 1938.
    Doctors were few and far between in ancient times as wen people fell ill they did their own doctoring making use of herbs and other simple remedies.
    Rheumatism.
    Dandelion picked fresh and saved in the open air under the sun until quite dry.It was then brewed like tea and drunk in large quanities.Celery seeds treated in the same way relieved pain.
    Coughs.The garlic bulb boiled in new glass of rum or whiskey, bottled for some time and drunk often .Flax seed brewed and flavoured with brown sugar was also used.
    yellow Jaundice .The berberis branch pounded into pulp and boiled in water .A pound of pulp to a quart of water boiled
