- The following are the birds which I have noticed in the neighbourhood of Ennis:-
The starling. The starlings always build their nests in old houses or on the side of a cliff. You never see them flying singly. You would always see them in twos or in a flock. Their eggs are pale-blue. Starlings feed on berries.
The black-bird. The black-bird is a low-sized bird. His colour is black and his beak is yellow. He is not a game bird. He builds his nest in ivy and sometimes he builds in a bush. He is caught by a cradle-bird and put into a cage. He sings a very sweet song, after a few days.
