- The walls of the old houses were made of red earth or mud. The mud used be wet with water and then tempered and the walls were built with that.
The rafters were bogdeal sticks and long pieces of bogdeal for taoibhíns. The people used get long scraws and leave them cross the taoibhíns. They used go to a swampy place and cut rushes with a reaping hook and bring them to the houses. They used out the rushes down on the scraws and tie them with sugans. For the Winter they had bogdeal ropes to tie the houses.
