- Long ago bread was made different to it is made now. It was with two flat stones that the old people ground the wheat and oats into flour. There wasn't much bread used long ago because it was potatoes and porriage they usually used.
There was different kinds of bread long ago such as oaten-meal bread potato cakes and several others. They made the oaten-meal with oats water, and salt, then puting it on the griddle to bake.
