Underneath the Benn is the Bleaberry bank where in old times the youth collected in summer time and where was a small cabin with a flat garden where dancing was carried on. There was a famous old woman (-) who was a great fiddler and in this way earned a living. She was also said to keep a little shop in which she sold whiskey the product of a local brewer. The seat she occupied on Sunday still stands at the corner of the road leading up to the hill.
Annaverna house was occupied by a family who erected a fountain in Ravensdale village to the memory of their son: G. Stephenson. It was reconstructed by a family named Acheson Thomson who according to James McDermott of Dulargy got broken because he lost his fortune in the Garribaldi wars in Italy and fled the country as a result.
