    Great Walkers: Barney Agnew, tailor, walked to his work in Dundalk, a distance of seven miles in 1½ hours. Did this continuously for six years. Alex Mc Coole left Belfast in the morning & was working at Shelagh Chapel in the evening - distance 60 miles.
    Great Mowers: Johnny Connor & Willie Tracy could mow an acre a day.
    Great Wrestlers: Tommy Agnew, Courtbane 5' 8" in height 10 stone wt. wrestled with Pat Walsh 6' 2" & 15 st. weight. Agnew won - Had the reputation of being impossible to knock.
    Great Story-tellers: Hugh Mc Cakey, was illiterate but, could take newspaper, & "read" stories for a whole night. Often times paper would be upside down.
