Here is a story told of 'Hidden treasure' by my Mother.
A few miles outside Dundalk there is a big field and in the field there is a rock and beneath the rock there is supposed to be a crock of gold and on the right hand side of it there is a small tree and if anybody cuts a branch something will happen them.
The people did not believe them and some of them set out to see was it true. A girl cut a branch and when she was going home she fell off her bicycle and was hurt. The other people kept on digging and one of them came to the he rested for a while and when they came back to work the stone was gone. Olive Rogers
