    Land loamy, very suitable for potato-growing.
    Sand of good quality quarried in large quantities.
    On highest point (McGuire's field) is situated the reservoir tank for local water supply. Water pumped up from River Dee a distance of a mile.

    WOODS
    There are no woods in Greenmount except on the farm now owned by Mr Nagle where there is a great number of trees. But much timber has been cut down within the last twenty years.

    RIVERS
    The river Dee separates Greenmount from Drumcar.
