    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    There are many old houses in this district with thatched roofs and clay floors. The front of the chimneys were made of mortar and the fireplace was at the garbl wall. The houses were thatched with rushes.
    The fire was in centre of the hart. There was a hole in the roof for a chimney.
    There was a bed in the kitchen which was called a settlebed.
    Long ago there was no glass in the windows.The people had wood for glass.
    The floors were made of clay, bricks, and cement. The people used turf, wood, and coal for fire.
    Candles were not made locally. They used rush-lights which were made from rushes and greese.
