- There are many fields with names on them in this district. The following fields and hills are in the district and parish of Collon in the barony of Ferrards Co., Louth. "The Black Hill" got its name from the number of black beech trees that grow on it."Wins field" was so called because the field was owned by a Mr. Win.The bleach was so called because cotton was bleached on it.
The "Mass Field" was so called because in the penal times priests who were on the run said Mass there. The field is covered with rushes and coarse grass except one patch which is ever green. Mass was celebrated on this spot.
"Cruck an Allis", "Carric an Éin", "Carrig Magough", Molly Rugh, "Drum Baugh", "The Town Meadow", "Bell Patrick" got its name from St. Patricks bell."Knockaclava" and "the burrow".- Bailitheoir
