  1. There is a place in Georges St called the Fair Green where fairs are held. Long ago people buying stock used go from house to house. These kind of fairs used be every day but they are only held on certain days now. The biggest fairs are held on the 12th of May and other small fairs are held on Saturday. When a buyer and seller have struck a bargain they slap one anothers hands then the seller gives the buyer a luck penny which is a shilling or two. Every buyer puts a special mark on the beast he has bought.
