- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Knockcommon graveyard was once a Catholic church but was afterwards altered into a graveyard when it was blown down by Cromwell. The tabernacle and holy water fonts are still to be seen and the chalice is still used in Rosnaree church. It is said to be hundreds of years old.
There are many local families whose burial places are in far away districts. Although they may be living in the neighbourhood still everybody is generally buried with relatives.
It is said that the monks inhabited Knockcommon graveyard in days gone by. They had also underground passages to the adjoining fields to find some possible way of escape from Cromwell's soldiers.- Bailitheoir
