- Some days of the week are considered luck whilst others are not.
Saturday is not considered very lucky. People seldom flit from a house on Saturday because an old saying and belief is :- "A Saturday's flitting is a short sitting". People also say that if a new moon comes in on a Saturday the weather will be bad. "A Saturday's moon is a month too soon"
The following rhyme is said about days for getting married :-Monday for health,
Tuesday for wealth,
Wednesday the best day of all,
Thursday for losses,
Friday for crosses,
And Saturday no day at all.The Cross-day of the year is not known in this district. People never like to plant potatoes until the 17th March and like to have them finished before the 1st of May. The local farmers always try to have their mangolds(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
