“The Banshee was heard in Deanhill not later than March 1934...”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)....say that it fills one with terror and dread, and that when on hears the first loud shriek, it is enough to rise one off the ground. This was not the Banshees first visit to Deanhill, however. About six or seven years ago, Johnny McKenna, (RIP), another inhabitant of this locality, is said to have been haunted by the Banshee at the time of his death also. He lived near John Clarke.(Heard and written down by May Fennelly, Smithstoen - Hayes - Navan, whose people have lived here over 100 years)- Bailitheoir
