- There are no old castles in the neighbourhood of Bellewstown. The nearest of old buildings is Lisdornan big house.
It was built in 1780 by some of Volunteers. Napper Tandy lived in it. He died in it and was buried in Julianstown Protestant burial ground near Lisdornan.
It is almost 157 years since anyone lived in it. It has a cell where an English soldier was imprisoned.
It was never attacked by anyone even when war was raging.- Collector
