Outside Duleek is a bridge erected by William Bathe and Genet Dowdal. On this bridge James II placed his cannon the time of the Battle of the Boyne, 1690.
Duleek was a village of great note. The schools and monasteries were better that these of Clonard and Clonmacnoise There were hospitals, almhouses and sanctuaries. The hospital was dedicated to St. Mary Magdalen.
Outside Duleek are the remains of the Abbey of St. Mary. In the street of Duleek is a cross. The figures of these Saints Andrrew, Catherine, Stephen, Cianan and Patrick are seen on it.
There are several other crosses around the village.
