    The most severe wind storm remembered by anyone in the locality is the great Wind of 1903 in February
    Hundreds of trees were blown down across Lagore and Ballymore which part of the parish was wooded, and the roads were blocked by trees for several days afterwards.
    Nearly every house in the village was damaged some of them being completely unroofed.
    An old travelling man known as "Paddy the Farmer" was found dead on the Lagore road by one of the villagers Frank Fortune.
    It was stated he died from exposure.
    A cross was cut on an oak tree under which he was Found.
