After the Anglo-Norman Invasion, Kilmoon became a Parish Church.
In 1690 James II presented Rev. Thomas Newman to the parishes of Kilmoon and Kilbrew. In 1704 Father Newman became Parish Priest of Creekstown, Kilbrew, Kilmoon, and Trevet. Fr. Newman resided at Creekstown. At the time of the Reformation Kilmoon Catholic Church was pulled down and a Protestant edifice erected on its site.
Dean Swift was Pastor here for a while.
