A gentleman named Butler an uncle of the late owner lived at Priestown.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
So another day the priest was coming to say mass again and the man was ploughing and he asked him was he not going to mass and he said he would not be allowed. So the priest left the man standing unable to go on with his ^ so shortly after the owner came and asked him why was he not working and he said the priest left him standing as he was. The owner took up a big stick and went to beat the horses and he was left standing like the man. When the priest was returning home he asked the owner would he allow his men to go to mass in future and he said he would. So ever since the men that works in that place are allowed to go mass on holidays of obligation and all Sundays.
My mother told me this story.
