- The Local Forges.
There are four Forges in the parish, Rathmolyon, Kill, Coragh and Tooher.
The smiths are Paddy Brady, Pat Harnan, and John Suhan.
The smiths people have been smiths for a good many years.
Kill Forge is at a cross-roads and Coragh is on the road side.
Rathmolyon Forge is not very big. The roof is made from slates with boards across them.
The door is not of any special shae. There is a horse shoe on it for luck.
There is only one fire-place in it. The bellows is made of leather. It is at the back of the fire. The smith shoes horses and asses but he doesnot shoe cattle.
The smith has a hammer and a rasp and other implements. He does not made farm implements.
The smith repairs some (implements) machines in the open air.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
