    cutting turf in Clarke's bog. They found an old road and when they traced it they believed it was the road from Tara to the West. It was laid the same as a railroad. Sticks across the road and sticks running along the top of the cross sticks. Then there were wattles woven in and out across the sticks. The road is supposed to have gone to Killucan a distance of about seven miles from here. The road itself passed within a 1/4 mile North of this school, Killyon, Hill of Down, Co. Meath.
