- There are several feast days which people in the local district celebrate in a peculiar way. The most common is St. Stephens day.
All the children and sometimes men gather together, dress up in old clothes and go round from house to house singing, dancing and playing music. Nearly everyone sings this.
The wren the wren
The king of all birds
St. Stephens's day she was caught in the furs;
The coat that I wore
And the coat that I tore
Was catching the wren in the fur
Up with the kettle and down with the pan
A couple of coppers to bury the wren
They get lots of money in all the houses around. When they are finished they share all the money between them.- Bailitheoir
