The goal-posts were different from now-a-days, there were four posts up, two in the middle and one each side of them; if the ball went out between the inside goal-posts it was a goal, but if it went out between the outside posts it was a point. There’s were three men guarding the goalposts. One time Kilbeg were playing Navan and during the game Michael Tevlin scored a goal from from forty yards from the goal-posts; the game ended in a draw. When the same teams met again to play, there was some dispute over a goal(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
