    Marvelstown. The latter was a goalkeeper of great fame and one time he burst a ball with his fist.
    One time Kilbeg went to Cavan to play the champions of that county who hailed from Cootehill and when the game was over there were only eleven men on Kilbeg side and thirteen on Cootehill side. During this game Michael Tevlin took a fifty and scored a goal which was the only score of the match, and a hawker’s stall which was behind the goalposts was struck by the ball and was tumbled upside down. When the game was over a Cootehill player challenged the best man of the Kilbeg team to fight, and Tevlin stood out, and he won the fight which lasted for two hours.
