Baileboro is a middle-sized town in County Cavan and Drumkerry lake is situated about three miles from it.
One day a couple of men who had a boat on the lake for fishing brought a horse and cart down to the lake to bring it home.
There was a blind man with called Tom Small - and so he was small - and they could not carry the boat from the lake to the road. Tom said "Stand it up on its end and I will carry it for you if you will lead me to the cart". So they (did) stood it up and he carried it out.
The boat was weighed and it was found to nine hunderd weight and a half.
It is said that when Tom was in England he broke the strings of his eyes carring weights.
