    French under the Viceroy Eugene be Beaucharais in the battles of Reggio, Parma and Piacanza, ending the Campaign in Piedmont receiving his promotion to Lieutenant General.
    In 1815 he was appointed Colonel Propietor of Infantry Regiment No 30 and was made an Honorary R.C.B. by the British Government. He was Commander in Chief of the Neapolitan Army with the rank of Captain General in 1817. He returned after three years to the Imperial Services, when he was created a Prince of the Holy Roman Empire & later he was made a Magnate of Hungary. He held the post of Major General of Ordnance from 1830 to 1840 being promoted General in 1838. On the outbreak of Revolution in Lombardy in 1848, he was placed in Command of the Reserve of the Army in Italy, but had top resign owing to ill - health.
