- There is a castle in Scurlogstown about three miles from Delvin village in Co. Westmeath and there is supposed to be gold buried there. The treasure is guarded by the hounds of the Fianna. Every night a light is seen shining in the castle. It was built by Hugh De Lacy & the treasure was stolen from a monastery & placed there in the castle.
- At Cummerstown, about three miles from Collinstown, there is a field on Fay's farm where a lone bush grows. A long time ago, a man named Thomas Lynch dreamt that there was golden treasure buried under the lone bush. Three men were named in the dream & they were to rise the gold. After a fortnight they went to dig for the treasure. When they had dug a foot in depth, they heard noises and got afraid & stopped work until the next morning. When they removed the flag the next day , the gold was gone. They went to an old man & told him the story. This man informed them that the gold was removed to another field & placed at a fort where it is supposed to be to this day.
