There were 30 children going to it & they paid a penny a week. There was a settlebed in the corner of the house & the master used to sleep there. Master Sheridan was his name. He taught grammar, geography, arithmetic, spellings, & writing.
- There was an old school at Kennedy's in Cummerstown, where the shop is now. That school was used about 70 years ago.
