- There are nearly as many plants growing in both the hedges and fields that we can hardly name them all. but here are a few plants which are called by these names around our district by the local people.
"garlic," this herb is great for a bad cough.
When people around our district catches a bird the most thing they give him to eat is "grounsill."

The milk that is got from the dandalion if put on a wart will cure it after three days.
Mrs. Fay of Clonmellon who died about five years ago had the cure of rheumatic pains. This rub was made from ash-leaves, lickrious and first shot whiskey. Many people during the spring give "Bog Bean" to their children in order to keep their blood pure.
