- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)said, "There's no use in my waiting here any longer" he said so he returned home.Next day he got a spade and a shovel to dig where the cobbler mentioned. After digging for some time he came on a flag with an inscription cut on it. When he removed the flag he discovered the crock of gold buried underneath it.He put the flag by the side of the fireplace in the kitchen. He didn't understand what was written on the flag. One day, a poor scholar returning from the South of Ireland called at Bardon's House for assistance and was invited to the kitchen to have something to eat.He saw the inscribed flag and when he read the inscription he laughed.Bardon noticed him laughing and asked what the cause was.The poor scholar told him it was the writing on the flag that amused him.He told Bardon it read to him, "As good one aide as the other.".So Bardon went out and dug the other side of the tree and discovered another crock of gold. The descendants of that man are still resident in this part of the country.
