In this district there are many old paths, some which leads to Ballynacargy.

There is a monument where the Mairn joins the long boreen, and there is a rock under which there is a man burried, and this man was hung on a big tree about three yards from the rock.
When the corpse passed by it was always left on this rock, and the priest said the De Profundis, and everyone who was at the funeral had to throw out a stone to the root of the tree.
