midnight when I awoke to see a grand looking gentleman shaving himself at a big looking glass.
For the few minutes I was watching him he seemed not to notice me, and I dozed off again.
Next morning on stepping out of the window. I met the herd face to face and he seemed more shocked than surprised.
When he came to, he said,
"Hello, where did you rise out of ?"
"A big bundle of hay in that big room said I, ;pointing my finger.
"You don’t mean to tell me you were there all night ?"
'I was then" said I "and snug I was too"
"Did you see anything?" said he
"Nothing" said I "only " and I ups and tells him all about the Bucko I seen barbering himself. "Well" said the herd , " There’s not a man in the county Meath who knows this place would do what you’ve done. but nobody ever slept a whole night there this twenty five years and that’s the length its ago since poor Mr Harry cut his throat.
