- Not many years ago a Coosan farmer was cleaning away bushes growing in a place called the "Ratheen". He was trying to uproot the bushes with a pick-axe. Later in the day he was found by his people in an unconscious condition. He did not regain consciousness for over a week. When he recovered he remembered the day he was rooting the bushes he felt himself getting a hard slap in the face and until he woke up in bed he remembered no more. It is believed that the 'good people' did not want him to interfere with the bushes in the Rath. That is the reason he was struck down. No one ever cuts a bush in this Rath now on account of what happened to the old man. He was never the same after and always walked with a stoop.
