    Donnell who lived in America. The old school was a two storied thatched house and it was so crowded that some had to sit on the stairs. When the wind blew strong the school shook and it was burned. That is why a new school was built. There also lived on the mill road up to a few years ago a woman named Anne Conlon. She had a little cabin and it was burned she died in the County home. as was also a house in which Laurence Hughes lived it was also burned. This L. Hughes lived for some time on the mill road and died about five years ago during mass in the church. he kept a shop at the mill, he was a great talker and took an active part in many public affairs as the Co-operative store. He lived some time in England. Another old pair, Hughey Higgins & his wife Rosie lived on the mill road, he was a butcher and sold Veal (calves flesh) in the town.
