- The townland I live in is Dooroc and the parish is Killoe. There are fourteen families in Dooroc, Edward Cooney Willie Reilly and his wife, Katherine Reilly and Pat Prunty are over seventy. The name Prunty and the name Lynch are the most numerous in Dooroc. There are two slated houses in Dooroc and the rest of them are thatched. There is a warrior buried under the Cairn on the top of the hill. Men dug a big hole on the hill in search of coal, and John Mollaghan lost a good calf in the hole.
There are two big old trees on the top of the hill and between the two a big pot of gold is hidden under the ground and and anybody who goes to dig up the gold a black cat will come out and the person will have to lose his sight before(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
