- The wild birds most commonly found about this district are the swallow, the Thrush, the Blackbird, the Jackdaw, the Corncrake, the Cuckoo, the Crow, the Robin, the Wren and the Magpie. Some of these birds migrate such as the Swallow and the Cuckoo The things noticed about these birds are :- The Jackdaw builds in chimneys and will keep throwing bits of stick till one of them gets a hold in the chimney and they will build stick upon stick 'till it is a firm as the chimney itself. They will lay five or six eggs and sit on them for a month 'till the young ones come out. The Thrush and Blackbird build in a bush and it is a small nest of feathers and moss and they lay four eggs and sit on them for a month till the young ones come out. The crow and magpie build their nests in a tall tree and it is made of sticks and moss. They sit on the eggs for four weeks.
