  1. There was once a man who lived in Clonback in the County Longford. His name was Dan Brady.
    This night he was coming home through Rathmore and he saw a light in a fort. He thought that the bridge in Rathmore must be broken but when he was passing by the light began to move. Then he got a stroke of something on the head and he was nearly knocked down on the road. When he came in the direction of Gowna the cries around it were terrible.
    He said that someone must be dead. When he reached Gowna everyone was in bed and there was no sign of anything.
