    The old Irish name for Killeen was Culleen. It got its name from a little wood that was there in olden times. There are five people over seventy years of age. None of those can speak Irish. There were more houses in Killeen in olden days than there are now.
    Numbers of people from the townland emigrated to North and South America. I heard of a little rhyme about the girls of Killeen which says -
    "The Culleen girls
    Their eyes are red
    Blowing the fire
    To the Indian bread."
    Some of the land is very good while more of it is rushy and wet. A bog
