   Bianconi had an office and 'stop' for his cars at Ryans one of the leading establishments in New Ross. "The Car-Office" was where Mr. Luke Dwyer's grocery and general stores were in North St. These premises are very spacious and gave the necessary accommodation to the travelling public. The car came to and left town by Creywell Road or College Road (See page 156 & 124) There was no "New Line" then.

   At Mount Garrett corner, Irishtown, Hammonds' cariied on an extensive public business -- bar - car and posting - bakery - milk (town dairy business)

   The car and posting business was carried on in conjunction with Ryan's of the Car-Office.

   Mr. Kavanagh, Borris - MacMurrough-Kavanagh

   This descendant of the Kings of Leinster was born without arms or legs. When in manhood he was a member of the New Ross Board of Guardians. He rode side-saddle into New Ross and as his road led through Mount Garrett he 'put up' at Hammonds', Mount Garret Corner. Mr Hammond himself took him out of the saddle (he would not allow anyone else) and transferred him to a 'fly-car' specially kept for him. He was strapped on that and Mr. Hammond drove him to the meetings of the Board of Guardians held at the
