Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Rev. Fr. David O Hanlon Walshe a great "Land Leaguer" lived in the parish.
    When his people were evicted from their once prosperous place in Knocktorton the sympathetic people built for them a cottage in Ballymitty and Fr. O H Walshe spent many years there.
    Two addresses presented to him, one from the parishioners of Hook Parish and the other from Land League friends are still to be seen in the cottage.
    Local tradition says that when the bailiffs raided his place he said "they will take everything but my horse and the horse ran wild and remained as they could not catch it.
    One of Wexfords streets now bears his name. O'Hanlon Walshe street.
