    Those men spread the news and a number of men decided to kill the men of the ship and get the goods. The did this.
    When the ship was not returning, the people where it came from got anxious about it and sent another ship to look for it. When they found the ship there was nothing on it but a bird. This bird could speak and it said that the people of Ballyvaldon killed the men of the ship and ate them.
    Some years later another ship from France came along the same coast and a storm arose near Ballyvaldon.
    The captain sent out a message asking what place it was and when he was told it was Ballyvaldon he said "Oh Ballyvaldon we don't want to be killed we'll go farther"
    They went on and the storm got worse and the men had to swim to shore.
    Every summer's evening after the men been killed a small ship would rise out of the sea and go sraight around the houses where the people lived that killed the men, and then go back into the sea again. This happened every
