- Years and years ago there were many fairies in Ireland and some persons called them the Good People.
The place where they made their abode is called a rath or a fort.In the townsland of Bolany there is a rath called Langaren's rath
It is said that there used to be lights seen in it.Once a man was coming home at night and he saw a light in the rath. Thinking it was the light in his own window he went in that direction, but soon he found himself outside the rath. He could not get out untill morning because there were thorns all around him. There is another rath called the moat. Some people say that it is a rath but more say that it is where the Danes burned the things that they stole out out the churches- Bailitheoir
