    The following Story was told to me by my uncle. One night a man was coming home from a neighbouring house from playing cards. He was passing by a river and in it he saw a funny looking man sitting on a stone. The man that was sitting on the stone was the devil, and he asked the other man to play cards. The man said that he had no cards. The devil said he had.
    They began to play on the stone until the devil won all the money that the man had. Then the devil said that they would play one other game. So they began to play and the devil was winning all the man had, when they heard the bell for mass. "Oh" said the man "there's the bell for mass I better go in the name of God". When the devil heard the man say the name of God he disappeared in to the water and was never seen again. But as he did this he left the mark of his foot in the stone. And ever afterwards this place was called the "Devil's Mill. The mark of his
