   A man who was hiding in the lane mounted the yoeman's horse and started to cross the bog.
   But he was seen by the yoes. Two followed him but he killed one.
   The Yoeman then went up and burned the house.
   To this day the large stone can still be seen.

   My uncle (Patrick Nolan, Tombrack) told me the following story. He heard it from older nighbours. After the Insurrection there was a man named Bolger hiding in Tinashrule from the yoemen. His hiding-place was in a wheaten -stack in his own home. There lived some distance from him a Protestant gentleman by the name of Robinson. This man's daughter was married to a yoeman named Pounds. This yoeman got to know of Bolger's hiding place. So one day while his wife preparing dinner for himself and another yoeman she heard them talking of a plan by which
