    The care of the feet.
Nowadays , the people always wear boots in this country but some of the children go bare-footed in the summer.
There are no shoemakers in the parish of Kilbride, Ferns now but most of the farmers mend their own children's boots. Some people wear clogs still, they are supposed to be much hotter than ordinary boots. They have wooden soles and heels and leather uppers.
Long ago the people used to make their own boots in their houses. They were made of leather, but now all the boots are bought in shops.
