- The following was collected by Mary Kehoe, Killegney Clonroche who heard it from her father and her uncle Thomas and Martin Kehoe, Killegney, farmers who have lived there for years.There is a Rath and also a large moat on the lands of Mr O'Gorman, Killegney, Clonroche.The moat is near the dwelling house in Killegney and the rath is a short distance away on his land in Ballyrue a short distance from the road.There are three ditches surrounding the rath but now they are in bad condition and covered with bushes and sgeoughs. The space in the centre of the rath is hollow. There is a gap in each ditch and the gaps are opposite each other.At certain times a light is to be seen about midnight here.
