When the bats fly low at night rain will come. When the frogs in the harvest time are of a bright yellow colour it is a sign of very fine weather when they are a dark colour rain will soon come.
When we see the cat tearing wood we may expect a storm. When we see all the houses, cattle and other animals sleeping in the day time rain is near at hand. When soot fills or when the smoke blows back down the chimney we may be sure rain is coming.
